A few months ago, I was stumbled upon a new lip/front spoiler for the Civic that I’d never seen before. I thought was an interesting design and it was relatively cheap enough to pick it up to try it out.
It came in a shiny black plastic finish which was okay.
The new lip to the old factory one.
The fitment was pretty decent for something at this price range.
The more I looked at it, I realized it looked very much like the S2000 CR front spoiler design so I wanted to play into that idea more. The item wasn’t actually marketed as such and has some design differences with an actual S2000 CR lip. The main difference is that the CR lip is actually flat across the bottom and the ends slant up on the sides.
I picked up the OEM liner for a CR lip from Honda because the details matter. I also picked up some of Dupli-Color’s “Perfect Match” paint for Frost White to color match the lip, but I ended redoing the whole bumper because it was in such terrible condition….and the paint wasn’t a perfect match.
The adhesive for the liner is only on one side so you’re supposed to stick it to the lip side and press it up against the bumper.
A test fit after paint
I later blacked out the lower half of the lip to complete the CR look.
