Cruising Grand is one of those long running events for several month during the summer every year. It’s a unique event that runs every once a week during its show season that anyone can just show up and check out. The event takes place in Escondido on Grand Ave and a few of the intersecting streets. It’s catered toward Pre-1974 American vehicles. Personally, I think its a great event, but it does get stale due to the fact that because it’s opened to such a niche type of vehicle it ends up being the same cars there all the time. While that’s nice for regulars who are accustomed to seeing their friends, the downside is that it doesn’t really open up the community for new comers as in other enthusiasts of classic cars of non-American origin. I think it would be a more interesting mix of cars and keep the general era specific aesthetic of the event and venue.
This specific event was for raising funds for the show season which is understandably costly for such a long run time that consists of closing off streets and staffing a large scale event. It was a car show that is pretty much identical to the regular events ran during the year.
